When your employment ends at Ocean Spray, you have some decisions to make about your benefits. Be sure to read the information you receive carefully, so you can make the best choices for you and your family. No matter where you go, we wish you luck on your next endeavor.
Medical, Dental and Vision Benefits
Your current coverage will end on your last day of work. You have the option of continuing your current medical, dental and vision plans through COBRA, and provided by One Source Virtual (OSV), for up to 18 months.
- The cost is 102% of the monthly premium, which includes the full premium cost along with an administrative fee.
- You must elect continuation of coverage within 60 days of your end of coverage or when you receive notification.
Life and AD&D
Life and AD&D Insurance benefits end on your last day of work.
- You can convert your benefits to an individual policy at a group rate through The Hartford.
- A conversion package will be sent to you and must be completed and returned to The Hartford within 31 days from the date benefits ended.
Disability
Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability and Business Travel Accident Insurance coverage ends on your last day worked.
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
Your FSA contributions continue through the end of your last pay period.
- You can submit claims through March 31 of the following year.
- All services must be rendered before the date of your last day worked.
- Contact Sentinel Benefits if you want to contribute after-tax dollars to your health care FSA after you leave Ocean Spray.
Long Term Care Insurance
You can convert your plan to an individual policy through UNUM.
- Complete and submit paperwork from UNUM within 60 days from the date coverage ends.
Auto, Home, and Pet Insurance
You can convert your plan to an individual policy. Keep in mind that when you renew your policy, you will lose your group discount.
LegalEASE
You can transfer your account to an individual plan.
- Any legal cases begun before your last day of work will continue to be handled by LegalEASE.
Time Away from Work
Accrued, unused vacation time prior to your last day worked will be paid out according to the accrual schedule in the links in the What You Need to Know section below.
- You will not receive payment for unused discretionary holidays or sick time.
Ocean Spray Cranberries Retirement Plan (Pension)
Ocean Spray employees hired before January 1, 2008 who have worked for 5 years or more are vested in the pension plan.
- You will receive a letter from Ocean Spray with details in the spring of the year following your last day of work.
Ocean Spray Cranberries 401(k) Savings Plan
Contact Fidelity Investments to find out your options with your account.
- Keep in mind that you are only fully vested in Ocean Spray’s contribution after 3 years of service.
- If you have an outstanding loan upon termination or retirement, you may have the option to either pay off your loan in full or to set up a monthly ACH deduction to continue paying any loan balance. Please contact Fidelity to review your options.
Payroll, Pay Statements and Tax Form
You can access your existing pay statements and W-2 forms for up to three years from the date your last statement was issued.
