Rollover Maximum

With Delta Dental’s Rollover Max feature, you can carry over part of your unused annual dental benefit to increase your available benefit dollars for future years. This helps you save your benefit allowance during healthy years and build up extra coverage for larger procedures down the road — like crowns, bridges, or root canals.

How it works:

  • Receive at least one cleaning or oral exam during the plan year to qualify.
  • Keep your total claims under your plan’s threshold amount (varies by annual max).
  • If eligible, a portion of your unused annual maximum will automatically roll over to the next plan year — no action needed.
  • Your regular annual maximum is used first; rollover dollars apply only after the standard max is met.

Important notes:

  • Rollover Max doesn’t apply to lifetime maximums (e.g., orthodontics).
  • If you disenroll from the plan, you will forfeit any accumulated rollover balance.
  • Major restorative coverage must be included in your plan to be eligible.
