Adoption Assistance
Adopting a child can be an emotional and expensive experience with some unique burdens. As a full-time employee, you can receive up to $20,000 in financial assistance for eligible adoption expenses.
Surrogate Birth Assistance
Ocean Spray offers full-time employees $20,000 toward surrogate birth assistance. Expenses are reimbursable at the time of the birth, and itemized receipts or some other form of written proof of the expense is required. Eligible expenses include surrogate agency fees, legal fees, birth mothers’ medical charges, and transportation costs. We know how important growing a family can be. More so, using a surrogate can be emotional, stressful and an expensive experience.
FMLA
The federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) is designed to provide up to 12 work weeks of unpaid leave during any 12-month period if you require time off for one or more of the following reasons:
- The birth and care of your newborn child;
- The placement of a son or daughter with you for adoption or foster care;
- To care for an immediate family member (spouse, qualified domestic partner, child or parent) with a serious health condition;
- To take medical leave when you are unable to work because of a serious health condition;
- For any qualifying emergency arising out of the fact that a spouse, son, daughter, or parent is a military member on covered active duty or call to covered active duty status; or
- To care for a covered service-member with a serious illness or injury incurred in the line of duty.
Please note: Employees must be employed for one year and have worked at least 1,250 hours in the previous 12 months to be eligible for FMLA. FMLA runs concurrent with disability, where applicable.
