What To Expect in 2027:
- Your 2026 benefit elections will automatically roll over into 2027 except for the Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA). To continue participating, you must make a new election during Open Enrollment.
- Employee and employer medical contributions will increase by 5.5% for 2027. Ocean Spray continues to fund the majority of the cost of coverage.
- Spousal Surcharge and Tobacco Surcharge requirements remain in effect for 2027.
- No plan design changes to medical, prescription drug, dental, or vision coverage for 2027.
- No premium increases for dental and vision coverage in 2027.
- NEW Accident Insurance through The Hartford provides additional financial protection for covered accidental injuries.
- No changes to Life Insurance, AD&D, Disability, Hospital Care, Critical Illness, or the ahealthyme® Wellness Program.
- Review your coverage and beneficiary elections to ensure your benefits continue to meet the needs of you and your family.

Medical Premium Update
Healthcare costs continue to rise nationwide, driven by factors such as increased utilization, higher provider costs, specialty medications, and advances in medical treatments. While many employers are projected to experience healthcare cost increases of more than 11% in 2027, Ocean Spray’s employee medical contribution increase for 2027 is 5.5%.
Ocean Spray remains committed to providing comprehensive, high-quality medical coverage and continues to cover the majority of the cost of coverage for enrolled team members and their families.
We encourage you to review your medical plan options and contribution rates during Open Enrollment to ensure you select the coverage that best meets your needs and budget.

- To help manage health care costs and encourage healthy choices, Ocean Spray applies the following monthly surcharges:
- Spousal Surcharge – $150/month
- Applies if your spouse or domestic partner has access to medical coverage through their own employer but elects coverage through Ocean Spray instead.
- Employees covering a spouse or domestic partner must complete the required Spousal Surcharge Attestation during Open Enrollment.
- Tobacco Use Surcharge – $50/month
- Applies to team members who attest to using tobacco products.
- All employees must complete the required Tobacco Use Attestation during Open Enrollment
- Spousal Surcharge – $150/month
2027 Contribution Limits
- IRS limits for HSA, FSA, and 401(k) are projected to increase as follows:
- $3,500 for the Healthcare FSA ($700 rollover)
- $4,500 for an Individual HSA and $9,000 for a Family HSA
- HSA Catch-up (55+) remains at $1,000
- $25,500 for participant 401(k) contributions
- $8,000 401(k) Catch-up contributions for age 50+ (additional exclusions will apply, introduced by Secure 2.0 Act)

Ready to enroll?
Log into Workday and make your elections by November 7th. The changes you elect during Open Enrollment begin on January 1, 2027.
If you take no action, your current elections will automatically roll over to 2027, except for the Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA). You must actively enroll in the FSA and HSA if you wish to participate in 2026.
Note: Spousal surcharge will automatically apply if no action is taken during Open Enrollment and you have a spouse or domestic partner enrolled on your medical plan.
