Ocean Spray provides both Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability insurance through The Hartford at no cost to you. Here are the details of the coverage you have:
Short-Term Disability
For the first 8 weeks, you will receive a total of 100% of your base pay. Benefits begin after 7 days for sickness, accident or hospitalization. After the 8 weeks, you will receive 60% of the base pay up to a maximum of $2,500 per week for 26 weeks.

If you were hired after March 1, 2006 and have completed one year of service, you will receive a flat $350 per week. If you were hired before March 1, 2006, you will have the same benefit as Non-Union Hourly Employees.
Long-Term Disability
Long-Term Disability (LTD) benefits pick up after STD benefits end. After 180 days, you will receive 60% of your base pay up to a maximum of $17,000 per month. LTD benefits last until you recover or reach normal retirement age, whichever comes first. If you become disabled after age 60, you may receive benefits past your normal retirement age.
You will receive 60% of your base pay up to a maximum of $5,000 per month. LTD benefits last until you recover or reach normal retirement age, whichever comes first.
Middleboro Union employees are not eligible to receive LTD benefits.
Don't Forget
While Ocean Spray pays the premium for the LTD benefits, you have the option of paying the LTD premium on an after-tax basis. You may want to consider this if you want the LTD to be non-taxable at the time you receive payment for an approved claim.
If you choose to pay for LTD coverage, your monthly cost is:
